Watering and Feeding your Bonsai

Bonsai are little treese in shallow pots and consequently dry our very quickly.  Fill a bowl or sink with water, immerse the tree so the water goes over the rim and covers the soil.  Leave for 5 minutes. Place on a draining board to allow the excess water to drain.  The tree should be watered approx. every other day, more often during the summer months.  The compost should be moist to the touch at all times.  A thorough watering when necessary together with leaf misting will keep your Bonsai healthy. All Bonsai need fertilizer to make up for the lack of nutrients normally gained in the wild. Feed your indoor and outdoor Bonsai every 10 - 14 days throughout the growing season.  During the winter only your indoor trees need feeding approximately once a month.  Follow recommened feeding instructions.  Fertilize after watering.
